Abstract

The problem of the life goals in foreign psychology is presented in the article. Special features of authentic and socially determined life goals, their impact on personality’s well-being are considered. The specificity of representations of goal constructs of hierarchies in different intervals of life perspective is analyzed. The features of coordination and integration of high- and low-order goals in the processes of building their vertical and horizontal interrelationships are presented. The mechanisms for ensuring the functioning of life goal systems in situations of subordinate cognitions’ blocking are described. It is established that conflicts in life goal systems contribute to a clearer prioritization, distribution of personal resources for the implementation of various constructs and thus contribute to more efficient systems’ functioning. The results of the analysis of the phenomenon of life goals in the context of the provisions of foreign psychology regarding the formation and self-organization of complex systems, their acquisition of the properties of multistability and metastability are presented.
