The state and level of development of civil society institutions in the Yaroslavl region in population and expert assessments

Abstract

This article analyzes the pressing issues of civil society in the Yaroslavl region. The article presents the results of sociological research, conducted by telephone survey of residents of the Yaroslavl region, by polling of experts among the employees of state authorities and local self-government of Yaroslavl region, as well as by polling of experts among regional NGO`s leader and employees. The article analyzes the assessment of the public and experts in relation to the institution of the Public Chamber, public councils under the executive authorities, forms of cooperation between NGOs and authorities. The researches leads to the conclusion that in the Yaroslavl region there is the ongoing development of civil society`s institutions. Part of the problems is gradually losing its edge. However, NGOs are largely dependent on the financial support of its activities by the authorities. At the same time, they quite successfully build its interaction with them in order to achieve of its goals.
