Announcements
Dear Colleagues, Authors, and Readers,
The Editorial Board of the academic journal Socialʹnye i gumanitarnye znania wishes to inform you of significant changes to the journal's concept and scope.
As part of our strategy to strengthen thematic coherence and academic identity, the journal is undergoing a name change and a revision of its thematic structure.
Key changes:
1. The journal is renamed _Politics, Society & Technology.
2. The Philology section is discontinued.
3. A new thematic dimension – Technologies – is introduced. This term is understood not in an engineering or IT sense, but within the socio-political framework: as a set of political, governance, communicative, and social technologies that are reshaping societies and power relations.
Why this matters:
Contemporary political and social processes are increasingly shaped by technological factors – from digital platforms and algorithmic governance to technologies of public opinion formation and social innovation. Integrating the technological dimension into the fields of political science and sociology enables the journal to respond more effectively to current challenges and to broaden the analytical toolkit of both disciplines.
What this means for authors:
- Submissions in philology are no longer accepted.
- Interdisciplinary research at the intersection of political science, sociology, and technology in its socio-humanitarian dimension is strongly encouraged.
- The updated Aims and Scope statement is available on the journal's website.
The Editorial Board extends its sincere gratitude to the authors and reviewers who contributed to the Philology section and looks forward to continued collaboration in the journal's renewed format.
